Overview

Who this is for: Parents making payments for a child's outstanding fees.

What you can do here: Select unpaid/partially-paid fees, choose a full or partial amount, review totals, and complete secure checkout.

Prerequisites

  • You can sign in with the role for this guide and access the entry route.
  • Required student or payment data exists for your scenario.
  • If your role is restricted, some actions may be hidden.

Step-by-step Procedure

  1. Open a child's details page and select Make Payment, or go directly to /Parent/MakePayment.
  2. In Select Unpaid Fees to Pay, check one or more eligible rows.
  3. (Optional) In Link Unallocated Payments, select payments to apply first.
  4. In Payment Summary, review Total and (optional) update Payment Amount for a partial payment.
  5. Confirm payment amount rules:
    • must be greater than $0.00
    • cannot exceed selected fees total after linked credits
    • if multiple fees are selected, amount must cover at least one full selected fee
  6. Choose one of these actions:
    • Proceed to Payment for checkout
    • Apply Payment when selected offsets bring total to $0.00
  7. Use Cancel to return to student details.
  8. If enabled for your school, select Set Up Payment Plan.

Expected Outcomes

  • The workflow completes and expected updates are visible in the destination page.
  • You can verify status, totals, or records using the page results shown in this flow.

Troubleshooting / Edge Cases

  • Unavailable rows show PAID, PROCESSING, or PAYMENT PLAN and cannot be selected.
  • Partially-paid fees remain selectable with the remaining balance shown.
  • If Proceed to Payment is disabled, confirm at least one eligible fee is selected.
  • If your entered amount is too high, reduce it to the allowed maximum shown in summary.
  • If multiple fees are selected and your amount is too low, increase it to at least one full selected fee amount.
  • The Payment Provider is shown at top of the form.
  • If the page shows No Fees, use Back to Student Details.

Variations / Branching Flows

Q: Can I pay multiple fees in one checkout?

A: Yes. Select multiple unpaid fee checkboxes before proceeding.

Q: Can I make a partial payment?

A: Yes. Enter a lower Payment Amount before selecting Proceed to Payment.

Q: What is Apply Payment for?

A: It is used when linked unallocated payments fully cover selected fees.
