Overview

Who this is for: Parents or guardians creating access to SchoolBanks.

What you can do here: Verify your email and sign in without a password.

Prerequisites

  • You can sign in with the role for this guide and access the entry route.
  • Required student or payment data exists for your scenario.
  • If your role is restricted, some actions may be hidden.

Step-by-step Procedure

  1. Open Get Started (/Register/GetStarted).
  2. Select Create Parent Access.
  3. Enter your Email and optional First Name.
  4. Select Send Magic Link.
  5. Open your email and select the verification link.
  6. After verification, you will be redirected to:
    • Parent Dashboard (/Parent/Index) if students are already linked
    • Link Student (/Parent/LinkStudent) if no students are linked

Expected Outcomes

  • Email verification completes and the guest or parent session can continue.
  • A new link can be requested when the original token cannot be used.

Troubleshooting / Edge Cases

  • Expired link: request a new link with Resend Link.
  • Invalid link: request a new link with Resend Link.
  • Already used: request a new link or sign in again.
  • Use Change Email if you entered the wrong address.

Email registration policy

  • SchoolBanks does not allow duplicate email addresses.
  • If your email is already in use (active or inactive), parent self-registration is blocked.
  • Existing users should use Sign In or contact school support for account assistance.
  • User-facing message shown: "This email is already registered. Use Sign In or contact your school for help."

Q: Do I need a password to start?

A: No. The first step uses a one-time email magic link.

Q: Why did I go to Link Student instead of Dashboard?

A: Your account does not yet have any linked students.
