Overview

Who this is for: Students updating profile details and sign-in settings.

What you can do here: Update profile information, manage MFA status, and change your password.

Prerequisites

  • You can sign in with the role for this guide and access the entry route.
  • Required student or payment data exists for your scenario.
  • If your role is restricted, some actions may be hidden.

Step-by-step Procedure

  1. Open the account menu (avatar icon, top right) and select My Profile (/MyAccount/Profile). The Account > Profile nav item (/Student/Profile) opens a separate, read-only student info summary (Grade, Graduation Year, Student ID) and is not this workflow.
  2. On Update Basic Information, review your Name, Email, Office Phone, and Other Phone. For the Student role these fields are read-only; there is no Update button.
  3. (Optional) Use the pencil icon on your profile image to upload a new photo.
  4. Review the MFA status panel. It shows your enrollment state and policy as static text (MFA status: Enrolled/Not Enrolled | Policy: ...); there is no Manage MFA action for the Student role.
  5. Select Done (checkmark icon) to close the page, or Cancel to discard and return to your portal page.
  6. To change password, open Change Password (/MyAccount/ChangePassword) from the account menu.
  7. Enter values in New Password and Confirm Password, then select Change Password.

Expected Outcomes

  • The workflow completes and expected updates are visible in the destination page.
  • You can verify status, totals, or records using the page results shown in this flow.

Troubleshooting / Edge Cases

  • Use Cancel or Done to return to your portal page.
  • If password fields do not match policy, validation messages appear in red.
  • If Name, Email, or Phone fields are read-only, your role does not have permission to edit that field; contact an administrator for changes.
  • The Update and Manage MFA controls only appear for roles with edit/MFA-management permission; the Student role will not see them.

Q: Why can't I edit some profile fields?

A: Profile field edit access and MFA management are permission-gated; the Student role is read-only for these fields by design.
